Question:
How do we split a keg into growlers or a 1/2 bbl keg into a 1/6 bbl keg? Can I transfer or sell the remainder to our taproomfinished good to repackage as a different finished good?
Answer:
We do this in the same way we would consume a BBL to create 1/6 BBLs. First, create a new production order for your growler using the correct fraction of a keg and any additional packaging materials necessary. If you already have a BoM for Growlers, you can edit the specific production order by just switching over the Bright Beer for a 1/2BBL keg. Then increase the planned amount of growlers needed by consuming a portion/all of the keg and producing the finished growler(s).
If you have remaining beer that you'd like to transfer or sell to your tap room you can do this. It won't matter that it's not an entire keg as long as the price is proportionately changed to reflect the amount of beer being transferred or sold. Here are the steps to repackage a finished good using a Production Order:
- Go to Production>Production Order
- Enter the item number you are producing in the header
- In the components, change your Bright Beer item to the item that you are removing from stock
- The Planned Quantities will default to a 1-to-1 ratio. Update the Planned Quantities to match what you are actually going to issue and receive.
- Add the Production Order
- Process the PdO the same way you would do any other production
