Set up Brand Master Data

Brand codes are used in OrchestratedBEER to link together the process step items and finished good items that belong to a particular beer brand or style. We also use them on the Production Screens where space is limited to serve as an abbreviation for a brand of beer.

There are two steps for using Brand Short Codes:

1. Create the actual Brand short code and to link it to a brand of beer.

First go to Inventory -> Brand Master Data

When the Brand window opens, enter "Add Mode" and enter the Brand code (numeric), brand name (full brand name), and brand short name (3 character abbreviation). As a general rule, the brand code should match the item codes in your system. If 1001-K12 is a 1/2 Barrel of IPA, then the IPA brand code is 1001.

You can display your brand of beer on the Scheduler by color using the Brand Color Code.

Lastly, you can enter target QC values on the different tabs on the Brand window.

Click "Add" to save the new brand.

2. Once the Brand Short Code has been created, you will need to associate the brand code with Item Master Data. To do this, first open the Item Master Data. Next, search for one of the process steps or finished good items (Wort, Bright Beer, 1/2 Barrel Keg, etc).

With the Item Master Data record open, select the Brand drop down and select the Brand Master record that should be associated with the Item master data.

Repeat this step for each finished good item or process step item for the brand of beer.
